Character Development: Not that Vilgax ever really becomes a better person, but in time he seems to have reevaluated where his lifestyle was getting him.In the Reboot, he's in one with the High Override for the second season finale. Big Bad Ensemble: He shares the Big Bad spot with Sir George and Dagon for Season 2 of Ultimate Alien.Big Bad Duumvirate: With Albedo in the finale of Alien Force, though it doesnt last long as Vilgax betrays him.Reboot Continuity: He's the Big Bad of Season 1's multi-part finale, "Omni-Tricked", the main recurring antagonist of Season 2 up until the finale, and the main villain of Ben 10 Versus the Universe: The Movie, which served as the Season 4 finale. He also appears as the secondary antagonist in the Grand Finale of Omniverse, ultimately kicking off his whole story due to a Stable Time Loop. He returned as the main villain for Season 3 of Alien Force, and served as the True Final Boss of Ultimate Alien. Original Continuity: He serves as the Big Bad of Season 1 and is a secondary threat to various Arc Villains in subsequent seasons, before becoming the final Big Bad for the Secret of the Omnitrix movie, which was the Grand Finale of the original series. No other villain has held the Big Bad title more often than Vilgax. Beard of Evil: His iconic tentacle beard.Batman Can Breathe in Space: He has been shown to breathe in space.According to Word of God, he has such a reputation as a Bad Boss, almost nobody is willing to work for him, hence why he usually has to rely on Mecha-Mooks.
Bad Boss: While it was hinted in Alien Force that he cared to some extent about civilians on his planet, it's clear in all series that he is awful to his subordinates he openly threatens Psyphon with death twice, once threatened Rojo to "reduce her to dust" if she failed, and was seen testing mercenaries he just hired by unleashing his mooks on them.Asshole Victim: The original series makes a point of brutally destroying or otherwise vanquishing Vilgax in particularly violent ways-and considering who he is, it's safe to say he deserves every second of it and much more. This goes to the point that, in the Grand Finale of Ultimate Alien, Ben is more worried about Vilgax than he is about Dagon.
It runs in the family before Ben, he considered Ben's grandfather Max his archenemy.
